Jan E Lovie-Kitchin is an American optometrist and a founder of Vision Rehabilitation Centre.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Professor Jan E Lovie-Kitchin )〕 ==Biography== Lovie-Kitchin obtained her first degree from the Department of Optometry at the University of Melbourne in 1973 and got her master's three years later at the same place, under the guidance of Professor Ian Bailey. With him, she created the Bailey-Lovie visual acuity charts which are now used world-wide. During those years she also had one year of clinical practice and by 1980 became clinical optometrist at the Victorian College of Optometry. Later on she moved to Queensland where she became a lecturer at the ''School of Optometry'', a division of Queensland University of Technology and in 1985 have published her first textbook.〔 In 1992 Jan was promoted to an associate professor and got her Ph.D. four years later. In 1998 she was awarded with the Garland W Clay Award from the American Academy of Optometry and a teaching experience award from the QUT in 2006. Prior to all of it, she used to be a consultant at the Kooyong Low Vision Clinic in Melbourne and Brisbane's Low Vision Care Centre. In 1993 she founded Vision Rehabilitation Centre and in 2007 became a director of Vision Australia. Currently she serves as an adjunct professor at QUT and is a chairwoman of the University Human Research Ethics Committee.〔
